Default Reading - Inerpreting Electrical Drawings - 1990 XJ

If someone could point me in the direction of some type tutorial, etc. that tells one how to interpret FSM drawings I would sure appreciate it. I have tried to figure it out on my own, looked at manuals, wiring, etc. til my eyes feel like they are about to bleed and I have gotten no where. The connectors in the photo "what I have" are the connectors coming from the alternator. Yellow and a Brown w/Black Tracer; the yellow has a single connector and the Brown w/Black Tracer goes to a 6 pin connector (brown goes to the C connection) Simple enough when you look at the FSM......BUT when you look further at the FSM printout (attachment) there is a 10 pin connector which I don't have. I have circled some items that I cannot interpret in the Word document I have attached. I get the Wire gauge and color, but figuring out the splices and the SH 37, SH 19 etc. is driving me crazy. I searched for some type of tutorial (teach a man to fish...) and either there isnt one here or I am not smart enough to find it. And just so you have all info needed, I am putting the 4.0 from a 90 XJ into my old 89 YJ (not the easiest swap I am finding out!). Love the XJ's but this YJ is an old one of mine and I want to restore it.

That yellow wire is connector c335. It gets battery power with key on when it's plugged in. .
What issue are you trying to solve?

There is a section that talks about them but I still don't understand it........then again, in the title of my post I couldn't spell Interpreting correctly!

That helps but what I am ultimately trying to understand is how to figure the wiring out. I have an old 89 YJ (4.2 to 4.0 swap), and the wiring is giving me fits. Looking at the wiring on the YJ or XJ manuals results in more frustration. Colors dont match and I can deal with that, I just want to be able to understand the diagrams so that I dont ask endless questions. Further complicating the issue is that the engine came with what is supposed to be the original wiring harness. Looking for that "AHA" moment when the light comes on! (btw, I couldnt spell Interpreting correctly in the title so there's that!! )
