HVAC Connector Disassembly/Repair
Ok, on the back of the HVAC controller there are three connectors.
#1: Fan Speed Controller Switch
#2: Vacum Switch Connector
#3: Mode Selector
It is connector #3 that I am concerned with.
This is a 4 pin connector, though there are spaces for a 5th pin only 4 are use. Some XJ's have 4 wires on this connector and some have 2 depending on the year. On those with 5, there are 2 wires coming off of one pin.
I need to repair mine and would like to know how to remove the pins from the connector without damaging the connector. I would like to just replace the two bad pins and also the connector body.
My other option is to completely cut out the bad connector and pigtail in the replacement, but that type of repair could become problematic.
Thanks!

FWIW: I flipped up the top piece of the connect but that does not hold the pins into the connector. I know I need to push something into the connector and lift up a retaining piece but I cannot figure out what is holding it all in.
