It would be kind of cool to compile a thread of places you've been able to trace down any rattles or other noises while driving our beloved XJ. Also what you did to fix it. We all have them. I am chasing one behind the drivers side dash at the moment. Also, one behind my head somewhere. Otherwise things are pretty quiet in mine, cept wind noise from flattened seals.

Could try the rope trick on the door seals.

Use a smaller diameter rope maybe?

A straightforward but memorable one. Rattle under the dash. Previous owner had lost track of a screw and a clip. A super easy fix but while I was fishing around in there, I found 5-6 unused condoms hidden. I think he probably treated the Jeep better than he treated his marriage
