2000 xj 4.0 auto. no alarm system. Did not remove steering wheel (only dropped it)
replaced heater core. Everything works fine starts and drives fine no codes (except.....
However the elect door locks now don't work and when you toggle the door lock switch on either front door the rear wiper does one swipe (the rear wiper works fine when using it's switch) the rear wiper also moves one swipe when you press the rear defrost switch.
Obviously something was disrupted when dash was moved to get hvac box out but WHAT would cause these weird symptoms where the door lock switchs interact with the rear wiper? I did have the battery disconnected during the process (in case you were wondering
I guess what I'm looking for is some suggestion as to which part of the harness/which connector might be the suspect. Looking at the wiring diagrams looks like both the rear wiper and locks go thru c200 but don't understand why lock switch would trigger rear wiper.
thanks for any help.

See my sig, #1. Sounds like you may have missed or messed up a ground connection. First place to check, anyway.

+2 on grounds. Very common problem when removing the dash to replace heater core or AC evaporator to mess up a ground somewhere when putting it all back together. Check harness that goes into passenger and drivers doors through the rubber boot and especially the bolts on each end of the dash that secure the dash to the sidewalls, and the ground wires in that area. You need to get up under the dash and make sure all of the ground wires that attach to or near those points have good continuity.

It bothers me when someone asks a question, folks reply , and you never hear what the outcome was..... So here's the outcome.
I reseated both c100 and c200- which of course not only reseated the connectors but wiggled (wiggled is a technical term) a bunch of wires. In any case THE PROBLEM IS FIXED .
Of course I don't know which wire/terminal was the problem and as I tend to be OCD about this stuff I will do what I need to to make sure it stays fixed including making sure the grounds in the area are solid.
Thank you to those who replied.
