Default Rattle from acceleration

Happens only during moderate to hard accels from complete stop. Maybe 10-15 mph range then goes away. Doesn't happen on turns. Sounds like it's coming from front.

94 SE 4.0 AWD

Any ideas where/what it might be coming from?

Doesn't sound like any sort of exhaust rattle.

Check for worn, failed, or loose motor and transmission mounts. Do a visual inspection and see how the rubber is holding up. With a helper firmly on the brakes, and the vehicle in Drive, have them give it a little gas and check how much the motor moves/rotates due to torque. If this is the cause, you may even reproduce the noise when doing this.

Look here, and check your engine and trans mounts:

Do ALL of them at the same time. If one is worn, chances are, all are about shot. If you change only one, it might get better, but will have additional stress on it causing premature failure.

Also, they don't cost that much. And aren't that hard to change.

Further, expect a little vibe for a bit till they get broken in.

Also, don't over torque the tris mount. The engine ones you can wren have on as hard as you want. The Trans is a little finicky.
