So I didn't realize what this was when I tried pulling it out of my evap (I'm replacing the evaporator + heater core). I've got a 94 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I know its the thermostat, the copper probe was stuck when I pulled it out and separated from the wire. The wire looks okay, but I'm not even close to an expert. Can I just put the copper probe back on? Also can I jimmy rig it to the new Evaporator I have? It doesn't have the insertion hole like my old one did. Thank you for anyone who can answer. I didn't see a specific how to repair one of these on the forums, but if it exists i'm happy to be re-directed. I know these are hard to find + Expensive.
I've only been told about getting a bypass resistor that apparently is only 3 bucks at an auto store. I've seen some other forums where people suggested perhaps fashioning a different newer model, but unsure how to do that/they didn't really offer a step by step either. Sorry. :/ BOTH thermo sensors I have both registered a reading when I used my multimeter, but didn't react when I put them in boiling water OR ice water. So I might go the bypass route if I can figure that out.
I am sorry I don't have enough information regarding this. But yes, if you want to write essay assignment then you can visit https://writinguniverse.com/free-ess...esponsibility/ here where you will find your answer.
