This 94 Cherokee was given to me by my dad in November 17, 2008. It has been everything i could have ever asked for since then and more. The previous owners had already installed a mystery Rusty's off-road lift kit (between 4.5 and 6"?) and 31" Trxus sts tires. Its factory color was white with the sport trim. Here is how it stood when I first saw it.

But since my dad was a body man, I decided quickly the paint needed to change. So I went with the salsa red from the Toyota Tundras.

So a while past and I started wheeling some more when eventually I was conned by my friends to try a mud hole that no one has gotten through in 3 years, which lead to


and due to improper towing methods, my rear bumper got a nice big bend in it. which wasn't replaced until recently. I also decided to get these

Thanks guys, and the bumper seems very solid, i haven't got to pull anyone out with it yet... maybe that will change this weekend lol, lets just hope its not me.

What did you do for paint prep?

took the fender flares off, bumpers, lift gate, and doors, and the silly little stripes and black tape trim off that was already falling off. Then the roof rack and also the front clip and hood came off. Then wash, sand, repeat, block, wash. then taped off the interior, and the engine compartment so no paint would get in those places. then did the fine tape work around the trim bars on the roof, and the antenna mount. also completely disassembled the doors and cargo gate before paint and taped the inside off so paint wouldn't get to the windows. Then a little bondo to the few dents, more sanding, washing, and blocking, then primmer where needed, and mixed up the salsa red and sprayed, then dryed over night, and reassembled everything. I also left all the badges off to give the body a more clean look.

Awesome, did you use sandpaper or a 3M pad?

I have everything disassembled already, I was just curious on how other people are prepping.

sand paper, light grit, just make sure to block or you will get little lines after you spray.

The bumper and diamond plate rocker guards are from warrior products, the diamond plate entry guards are from rustys offroad.
