I have a 1990 Renix Cherokee with the plastic pressure tank. Id like to eliminate that tank, as it is a reliability issue for me going on long overland trips. I also want to try a new radiator as mine is old, and my cooling could be better (my engine is tuned fine, new pump, thermostat, fan clutch, electric fan turns on etc...) I tend to run a bit hotter than my buddy who has a 2001 XJ when we is on the trail or highway together. He fixed his cooling issue with a new brass/copper Summit Racing brand radiator. So kill two birds with one stone for me, no more plastic pressure tank and new clean radiator that is all metal cooper/brass, which should give me better cooling that my old aluminum/plastic radiator. I like the traditional cooper / brass types, no plastic side tanks, and excellent heat conductivity, and easy to repair if need be, I consider it a life time item. So I am pretty much sold on cooper brass.
However... The radiator that my buddy got, which I like, does not have a port for the fan temperature switch that the Renix needs. So is there a good location to relocate this fan switch? Maybe a coupling on a radiator hose that will accept that switch? What have you all done for this issue of fan switch relocation when the radiator has no port for the switch?
Thanks in advance!!!

While I have not done it, you can get a '91 or newer thermostat housing that has the port for the coolant temp sensor (or drill/tap your existing one). You'll have to extend the harness to reach. Otherwise, I've seen some use an adapter in the upper hose. You still need to extend the harness.
OR, you can forget the sensor and just wire up a toggle switch on the dash to control it manually.

Looks like the all metal (brass/copper) rads from CSF no longer have the bung in the tank. The plastic tanks do.
There still is an all metal for the Renix (also CSF with the bung) but it retains the expansion bottle.
