I don't really know where to put this. Maybe I should just start a build thread...

Okay, let me introduce you to my Jeep...

Looks decent. Could use some new paint.

This is my oil pressure sending unit. Which I believe to be on it's way out...

First question; how do I get it off? I tried prying at the plug gently with a flat head, couldn't get it off. Also, how would I go about replacing that rusty looking bolt?

Here is my flex plate. Yes that is a bolt missing. How? I don't know how it came off, maybe the previous OP. I was taking a look at it trying to figure out how it comes off to do the torque convert bolt, knock fix. Looks like I need to remove the starter. Does anyone know what size bolt this is?

Power steering line, and transmission line leak. From the crimped end of the hose. Is there a way to do this without damaging the fragile metal line? Do I need to pull the entire line out?

Oil filter adapter leak... The bolt holding this in looks pretty rusty. I'm afraid of stripping out the torx (i think?) bolt. Do these bolts usually hold up rather well?

I was admiring my new gas tank strap job (which was a pain to do)... However you can see the rear diff cover here. It's orange with powdery surface rust. Took a wire wheel to it and it hardly came off. Any tips on how to remove it to lay down some flat black? Or should I just use a black rust reverter on it?

That is all.

power steering/transmission cooler line...the lines are "one piece" you can not seperate the braided rubber from the steel section.

oil pressure sender..pup the little red clip up a bit, then press the little tab on it in while pulling gently, will pop right off.

"rusty looking bolt" the larger hex area is actually the adapter to the engine...dont worry about that til you cross thread it....the bottom of the plastic oil pressere sender..the other"rusty looking thing..is actually part of the sender itself.

hope this helps.

Push the red button and pull the plug off the pressure sender.
Dont worry about that "rusty bolt"

Buy new transmission lines, theyre cheap.

Lots of info on the oil filter adapter, search.

Wire wheel the diff cover, wipe it down with a cloth, spray with brake cleaner to degrease, prime/paint.

Mine doesn't appear to be leaking, though I can't see the underside of it to verify. After much searching around, I was unable to find anyone to provide an oil pressure gauge to test it. I tired Advanced Auto, Auto Zone, and Napa. I finally broke down and consulted the mechanic who's been servicing our families vehicles for a very long time. Did some brain picking on him, and must say he was extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about his work. He understood I wanted to do my own work, on my own Jeep. He suggested just order the sending unit first. It's the easiest, and cheapest thing to do. Next would be the manual gauge, buy one if you can't find one to rent out, take it to a mechanic only if you need to. They will charge the most. This would clear any issues with a faulty gauge cluster/bad ordered sending unit.

If the readings on the gauge are matching that of the cluster, and the oil pressure is low... Then you're going to start getting dirty. So I decided to do this first. He said my engine didn't sound like it was suffering from low oil pressure, and rarely, if ever, he's had to replace engine "innards" on these engines. I'm assuming he was meaning rods and main bearings. I was very relieved in hearing this.

It looks like my starter is bolted on, or at least over a significant portion of this plate... I'll double check.

I don't think it's bolted over the plate at all or it shouldn't be then the starter wouldn't be able to sit flush
