Question about my A/C
I was going to refil the A/C compressor because it was not blowing out cold air. When I turn on the A/C it does not make a sound and the clutch does not engage or spin. I was told 2 thing, one that if I am at 0psi it will not engage, and the other that its just bad. Any ideas?
When I baught a filler for it, it came with the gague but i took off the bolt on the A/C and it does not fit... is mine not R134? the sticker is too old so I cant tell, but I was told that it was...
Any ideas on a good way to check?

If is the an 89 then unless the compressor has been changed over and the system converted then it is R-12 and the R134a filler will not work and thats why it doesn't fit. Now if the system has been converted then you are just trying to fill it on the wrong port and there should be another port to fill on. Normally if the compressor is bad it will be locked up and wont spin the same goes for the a/c clutch. So if they spin I would say it's probly low.

I appreciate it, yea it spins but the clutch in front just sits there, doesnt lock it up though. Is that a good sign? I usually just replace them and its not expensive but trying to save some money here...
Also, any idea on a good place to buy the retrofit connectors?

Generally its a good sign if it spins. My 97 has a bad compressor but the clutch is still good. So to be able to use the defrost without the clutch turning on I pulled the a/c clutch relay. So now the clutch never engages and it just spins freely. Most auto parts stores sell the retro fit kits. You may have a bad relay or you may have a wiring problem to to the clutch and its not getting power and that wont allow it to engage.
