Dunno. based on those wiring diagrams, if you bypass the ASD in a '99 you'd have to stall it to turn it off.

Think of the ASD relay along with the fuel pump relay as what turn the Jeep on and off...this is a bit simplified but close enough.

The ASD relay shuts off the injectors and coil right now when it loses signal from the ignition switch via the PCM...if you were to bypass the ASD, there would still be fuel in the lines that the injectors would admit into the combustion chamber and the coil would fire.

Figured out what I was thinking about bypassing....

Got the ballast resistor and ASD relay confused.

You can bypass the resistor, not the ASD relay.

My bad.

You don't have an aSD relay.
