well you can go getto on it,, and do a hole in you hood, and put a flexing pipe tube thingy, so that you can open an close the hood with no prob..., and connect it to the side of the windshield like a regular snorkel

Are you using an image host like photobucket? If you are then use the img link Left click and it will say copied then place your curser where you want the image and right click which gives you several options pick paste and you are done. The link will show up on your post but when you add your post it will be photos.

I made one for my TJ out of 3" pvc:

I can't find any engine bay pictures but i know i have some. I will look for them later. I gotta get to work. But the pvc held up fine and kept the filter dry since the very day i installed it and i've been in water over the hood a few times.

I think i will do the same setup on the xj. we'll see.

Why is the snorkel run out of the passenger side?

IF you get water in THAT. You don't have to worry about killing your motor.
In fact, you wouldn't have to worry about ANYTHING... You've drowned

NO COMMENTS about its looks...you've summed it up quite well

Snorkles are a gimmick, if you run your Jeep deep enough to need one you are going to have more problems than water in your intake.Unless you are going full competion I think it's a waste of money that could have been spent elsewhwere(suspension, tires) thats my opinion.

When you get your intake wet 4 weeks in a row, you start having thoughts of getting a snorkel Some people have no need for it, some do. It's all about their wheeling style.
