It sure as heck isn't funny on this end, good point on the torch will stick

with heat gun and PB. It is hell with both of mine down, lucky I can use

son's car to town etc. Transfer case on the pickup and Jeep down. Not

allowed to run atv to get to road I need which is a 4-mile stretch.. Probably

30 mile on atv trail to get their or better the long way around . Thanks for

the warning on torch after all I am only a Finnish genius and quit your

damn laughing that what they all do when I say it. Smile it don't hurt

if I remember. Hoot Finally got it to turn a little will keep spraying and turning it back and forth, Thanks all

1.cap is off 2. no gas as valve. I kept it pushed in and wife cranked it over about 6 separate times shutting key off after each try. 3. Fuel filter is next place to check I guess. disconnect the line from filter to injecters what the hell ever they are called and see if gas flows when pump kicks on.. Ken

took line off before filter no gas looks like when I had the tank off inlet to

pump either fell off or is not at bottom of tank. Looks like I will be dropping

tank and removing pump to check it out. It had been leaking and I

had tank out to find leak.Had tank upside down ,standing on sides and

ends to find leak. Leak was where pump goes in at. Ken

Our friend hoot619 is 70+ years old and is working on his Jeep in an environment that would make may of you crap your frozen britches and run to Momma. Please take note of that before starting in with the rude crap and snickering next time.

I know he doesn't need or want anybody standing for him, but I'm doing it anyway.

Good luck with the pump hoot.

I'm glad. I was honestly worried you wouldn't see the warning in time and would go at it with a torch. Please don't be insulted. But you gotta admit it was kind of funny.

Good luck.

I'm glad they got on me on the torch. Never can tell I might have got mad enough to use it.

Just got back from camp and getting ready to drink some Magnesium Citrate plus a gal of other stuff . I don't think I will crawl under the damn thing tonight. Won't be working on it again til Friday.

My son was over last night and was doing something to it. Told me leave it

alone til I talk to him. Thanks all Ken or Hoot I bet this means I Shouldn't use torch to look in tank also! Have a nice evening I won't time to start drinking this junk!!

My son was over tonight and got it to pump gas ,line was off at filter and

when he got pump going we heard a pop and gas was running out of line.

Will hook line to filter up in AM and he will be over after work to give me a

hand. Just maybe will have it running tomorrow. I'm not suppose to do any thing today says the Doc . one small polyp!

It is hell when money is tight and have both vehicles down and deer season 9 days away..

Well, if you can't get them with the Jeep, why not just shoot them?

Just changed my pump last fall... get new straps if the old ones are rusty when you drop the tank... and bolts. Easier to cut them off then mess with it, especially if its rusty.

I put line on to filter and when son put gas line he had off at rail by fire wall

when he got here a few minutes ago. He hit starter and on third try the old

gal fired right up. take a short ride tomorrow to town and get new gas filter

and also fill it up. Vacuum hoses are in pretty sad shape also. Thanks for putting up with me. Ken

I really hope you didn't put an Airtex in there. If you did you will be replacing it again in the near future. The Bosch pump from NAPA is an extra $100~, but you also don't end up stranded in either a desert with no cell service, or the middle of a 4 way intersection (those both happened to me). Once on a 1993 style fuel pump, the other on a '98.

Airtex has a warranty for replacement, but you take the old one to Autozone and they give you another one, then 3-5 months down the road you get to repeat the process. Plus paying for towing each and every time it happens. I've spent more in towing than the Airtex is worth and they don't give your money back.

Keep us posted! sounds like you got it. "Bambi Bumper Stew" is the best! First tried it in the county jail, 25 years ago. So thoughtful of the road crew to bring us fresh meat!
(now ALEC and PAC money have it all industrial, so the $'s are channeled "right")

ALEC? who is that? >> http://www.alecexposed.org/wiki/What_is_ALEC%3F

Took it for a good ride today close to 30 miles . Went into camp and back

bumpy washboard roads .Little noisy No muffler or cat. on it,had broke off just before
the cat. converter. It will be back on in morning. I took it easy 20 25 mph

on the woods roads.
Never had even a hic-up out of it. Temps were good oil pressure good. Turn

the key and it starts very quickly. Its been beat to hell body very rough, rear doors only open from inside. Engine trans and 4-wheel drive all good.

Gas tank appears to be fixed, will give it a good look in AM. I paid less than $300 for it a few years ago but I'm satisfied. For a woods rig it's good enough. Thanks all Ken
