2000 cherokee sport. 4.0 auto. I pulled the front carpet out a couple days ago because there was a ton of water in the passenger floorboard all soaked up in the insulation (a/c isn't cold so guessing it all leaked out or something. I havent put the carpet back in yet. Just bought the jeep a couple weeks ago). Ever since then the jeep will crank and crank but won't start. Any ideas on what to check for

More info would be helpful. The basics are the best place to start. Fuel and fire? Of course, looking at the last thing you messed with is also a good place to start.

All I did was pull the carpet out. And now it won't start. It ran great before I pulled it out. And I can hear the fuel pump working. And I even tried jumping it and it wouldn't work. I need to get starter fluid to see if it might be fuel related. How can I test if there is power to the coils?
no idea why it wont start.. but the water is leaking through your firewall at you blower motor
i had to fix that problem along with my rusted floor boards have fun with that

I don't think so. It was running for a while. Then I turned it off and took the carpet out. Then it wouldn't start. It has to he something with the carpet or something under the center console
