Yeah jumping it doesn't work

And I'm not sure if the alarm looking thing is stock. I don't think it is

People are still suggesting it's the battery, but you told us that it cranks and cranks and just won't fire - that suggests either no spark or no fuel.

The battery is probably fine if it's able to crank the engine normally.

My gut tells me you jarred a wire loose under the dash somewhere.

It only cranks the engine normally when its jumped. Other then being jumped it cranks slow and gives up fast.

As for the alarm thing. How are those wired in? What are the wires they connect to

Changed tires, won't drive.
Painted rims, won't run.
Tinted windows, won't start.
Vacuumed inside, won't idle.
Washed it, blew up.

Oh well that changes things a bit. I'd get the battery tested. When my battery went bad I couldn't get it to jump which really worried me - it would crank but not fire. But, as soon as I replaced the battery, it fired right up and hasn't had a problem since.

Have the battery tested. I'm still thinking you've got a major electrical issue.

The alarm system would be wired into the ignition, horn, lights etc somehow, usually it's installed directly under the steering column. Don't know about what wires go to what.

Well I give up. I took the aftermarket alarm off and made everything stock. Doing that didn't change anything. Then I took the battery from the TJ. That also made no change. It's getting towed to a shop soon I guess.

And I broke the shifter thing whee it says park reverse etc. the grey bezel broke from the whiteish yellow plastic under it. Does anyone have a link to this part so I can order a new one

I found it on eBay. $36
I do need one of those center console brackets that holds the back down but they are $96 on Morris 4x4. Waiting for one to pop up on eBay as well

Before you send it off maybe give the starter a few whacks with a hammer? Check the wiring connections down there too.

How did you remove the carpet?
Removed all the seats? The door sills? Is that all?

CAM sensor was the problem. Guess the carpet part was a coincidence? It's just weird that all in one day it was running, I turned it off and pulled the carpet out, then it wouldn't start... Anyways glad that I can tell you what happened
