It could be ps fluid, I'd start by popping the ps cap off and looking at the fluid level......if it's low add some and trace the leak....

If you are leaking PS fluid it will be puddling near the forawrd/inside of your driver's side front wheel. The PS pump, hoses and steering box are all in that same area....and yes really dirty PS fluid could look like oil. You most likely have a leaking hose or hose connection. Best case scenario you need to put a couple rounds of teflon tape on a hose end and re-tighten it. Worst case scenario you have to replace a hose. Neither one is hard to do at all.

A pump is $70 plus core at Autozone but, if you have a hose leaking. It may just need more fluid put in the pump after you fix the leak.

Did you over fill the PS pump reservour? There are marks on the little straw dipstick looking thing connected to the inside of the cap. The fluid level will fluctuate with heat. If you over filled it the overflow thing you're seeing will happen.

back pressure building up in the system from the pump failing, you will have to replace the pump, blowing fluid out of the little hole in the cap?? Pump replacement is a pita, the hard part is the pulley, getting it off and getting it back on, took mine to a local mechanic and had him put it on for all of 6 dollars. Put the brace on the pump before you have the pulley put on, learn from my fail, other than that it is just getting all the attatchment points for the power steering pump undone, the two in the back are a real pain.

I found that replacing the pump was cake, so long as you release tension from the belt first.
