I know my head gasket is blown and I've been working on getting down to the head. Now I can get a good look at the side of the engine it looks like the oil pan gasket is probably blown out. Its not any sort of major leak but I can tell that there is some gasket material creeping out of where the oil pan meets the engine. I'm kinda guessing I'm looking at doing a full engine rebuild now..... I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on this.

maybe, maybe not. My jeep sat for a long time without being started...now I am going through and figuring out what gaskets rotted...you may not need to rebuild, but if you are taking the pan off to replace the gasket anyway...may as well do the rear main seal while you are there! Good luck!

are you sure it is not silicone from when the pan was put in. if it is in need of replacement then just do what is necessary don't do something with out knowing for sure it needs to be done

Other things besides gaskets determine the need for a rebuild. Those things like the conditions of the bearings, does it rattle, compression, oil pressure and so forth. Gaskets are minor issues compared to those things

There are no rattles or pings. My oil pressure was fine until the gasket went out it blew oil on my air filter and coolant in my oil. I wasnt planning on going deeper than the head gasket, I hope not at least. I was just a little worried but everything else appears to be fine. Cross my fingers.
