To hydrolock a 4.0, you'd need to put 4.0 liters of water in it all at once within one revolution of the motor.

 

Alright! Then I'll slowly add water to the air intake tonight too... such a strange thought to me. Haha!

 

Keep it revved up and don't go nuts with the volume at once.

Pretty easy.

Get a cup of water, preferably something like a Dixie cup.
With the air cleaner off, hold the engine RPM at 2000 RPM or higher and dribble the water from the Dixie cup, which you've pinched to look like a spout on top, into the carb or throttle body. Go slowly and the engine will bog a bit. Stop and let it recover. Repeat until the cup is empty.

 

It works. Don't question him. He gets cranky if you do. I use a spray bottle and just sprayed it in.

 

Spray bottle is for wimps. Step up to the cup!!

I have a special cup just for tis.

24 ounce plastic that I re-shaped the top into a pour spout with my heat gun. I run one, if not two cups through in one treatment.

I'm a little concerned about Bosch plugs....

1,3,4, and 5 need to be done before anything else,,,,except the water treatment. I'm gonna go take a pic of my CUP!

 

didn't read the thread. Who wasted money on Bosch plugs. Oem all the way

 

Proper tools are essential to insure desired results.

 

I've got about 12 bucks in the Bosch plugs. If they end up giving me problems I'll just go back and buy whatever was recommended earlier in the thread. 1,3,4 and 5. Noted. Read through them all and seem like a good idea. Thats a great thread altogether actually. Kudos and thanks, Cruiser. This is my first renix Jeep and it feels almost like learning it all over so far. Ha!
