Default Power Windows Issue

Hello everyone. New guy here!

I am having an issue with my power windows. I have done a fair amount of research and have found various discussions regarding power windows not working. By far the most common is the window lock switch failing (posts breaking connection on the board or dirty contacts in the switch etc). I do not believe this to be my issue though.

Symptoms:

- Power windows do not work from any switch in the vehicle. Master Switch unresponsive to windows, mirrors and door locks. Passenger door can still activate power door locks - but window does not work.

Things i have checked:

- Fuses - OK (all relative circuits too)
- PW Breaker - OK (tested with multimeter and power door locks still work from passenger door).
- Yanked the master switch - cleaned contacts - still no workie.

I presume that my master switch assy has failed (board died possibly?). Before i go an buy a replacement - is there anything else i should check? Is it possible that these symptoms come from a wiring issue in the door (cracked/exposed wire)?

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

Thanks.

Check all wire's in the driver's door wiring harness. Specifically where the door hinges. I just posted this same thing 2 days ago. I pulled off the rubber grommet undid the tape and found 2 obviously broken wires and a handful of cracked and exposed wires. Pulled a harness from the junkyard for $25.

You my friend - get a cookie. Definately some shenanigans going on with the wiring here. You can see the black wire in the back - thats the culprit. Threw in the key - attached the master switch - jiggled the wires and voila the windows move. Will get it patched up but perhaps replacing the harness would be a good idea considering these wires are randomly sliced open.

Thank you again!!!!

(sry for the huge image)
