Default Possessed door locks

My 2001 XJ is having an atypical door lock issue. The power locks are intermittently and spastically unlocking, most often while driving, especially when accelerating. There is obviously a short somewhere and I've checked the usual offenders (flexible door looms, DDM/PDM) but haven't found anything obvious. I'm wondering if anyone else has heard of this issue or has an idea of what the most likely culprit could be since I haven't found any threads in any of the forums yet. The RKE and power lock system works as it should when it's not freaking out.

The short is internal to the loom, not something you can necessarily see from the outside.

I'd dig further into those door looms - right at the point where they bend.

Alot of people have trouble with the interals of the door switches. The circuit boards break and need to be fixed if I am not mistaken.

I had that same problem you have before mine stopped working all together. You have to take the switch box apart and pop the tabs off to get to the insides. I was too afraid mine was going to break I didnt want to risk it until I can get a spare switch box for a 2 door

Wires in both looms (except for driver door speaker which I repaired) appear to be intact. The DDM and PDM have both been replaced in the past year or two, albeit with aftermarket parts, but the internals look fine. Switch throws are operating as they should and nothing is burned or cracked on the circuit boards. The unlock relay on the PDM could be faulty I guess. May get the soldering iron out to swap the relays around for ****s and gigs. I disconnected the RKE and haven't been able to reproduce the issue so far. Are there weak points in this wiring harness or is this a symptom of a failing RKE?
