Default Power door locks not working

Today my keyless entry will click and horn honks but does not lock doors. When I push unlock nothing happens. Got inside and tried door locks and it just clicks and no lock or unlock. 2001 xj 4x4

When I had a 00 XJ the same thing happened to me. I ended up getting so frustrated trying to fix it I took the wiring out n went to Pull-part and ran a whole new set of wires through the door. Hope I never have to do that again

It's kind of strange. I just went out and tried it again and it worked. Mystery machine I guess

The front passenger door lock switch is the master for all power door locks. If it goes bad (very common), then no power locks will work. I've replaced mine a couple of times now (first was from a junkyard pull which lasted about a couple of years and the second was brand new switch).

you can try and re-solder both passenger and driver side controls-----I'm pretty sure re-soldering just the driver side fixed mine, but I know I did both ...I would re-solder the driver side first see if that fixes it, then re-solder the passenger side. If that doesn't fix it replace the passenger side.

Awesome video.. Thanks Mikesignal... I've been having this issue, and I went in and simply removed the spring from the window lock button that it would release what little tension that it had.. that worked for a min.. literally about a min.. lol.. im going to try this fix next.

Default Passenger rear door auto lock doesn’t work

I just got a new Xj and everything works great... except the rear passenger door lock. If I use it manually it works fine but the auto lock doesn’t effect it. The manual lock feels a bit stiffer than the rest. Everything I have been able to find is about all of them not working but this is really the only problem. Any ideas? Thanks

I can attest this fix worked for me.

The driver side window switch had cracked solder on both pins

The passenger side also had cracked solder on the master switch, which explained why the door switches would sometimes work.
