I do not think it makes much difference,I would do it when it is cold just because it is safer.

 

Did mine cold. Just do it from under side. It's alot easier to get to.

 

x2 while cold. also I needed a cheater bar to break mine free. good luck.

 

...and you probably will have to unbolt it using channel locks. I've never once gotten that torx to work. then again, I can't find the right size for it..

 

Let me know if you figure out any tricks on this. I tried mine 2 yrs ago and gave up...still leaking

 

If my memory is correct mine is a 3/4" (not torx), but its a '92. If yours is a torx, just get the right size bit and put it on a breaker bar. I had to do that with some of my suspension components.

It wasn't hard to remove and change the adapter o-ring, but I think mine is still leaking a little. Not enough to worry about though.

My bolt had a small o-ring on it too which I didn't change. Probably a good idea to do that at the same time.
