Default Poll: Replacing/Cleaning NSS

I know there is a lot of how to replace, how hard, and so on when it comes to the NSS. BUT I don't see a poll so here is how it goes, I want a visual of what has happened to you (or the closest to what I write) when cleaning/replacing the NSS. Thank you all for your input.

I didn't even have to pull mine apart. I adjusted it the slightest bit without even taking it off and got my reverse lights back. I'm one of the lucky ones.

I've cleaned 3 of them with success. Just did one yesterday afternoon.

Try the adjustment first and if that doesn't work it is not very difficult to remove and refurbish. Good luck.

I'm going to no matter what, I just wanted to figure out if I should run to the JY and pull one off as a back up for when this one breaks or if that would be a waste of my time.

Undo the locking tang. Remove the nut. Spray the shaft liberally with penetrating oil. Remove the 12mm adjusting bolt. Pry carefully near the shaft area, not far from it. Rotate it. Push it in, then pull on it. Repeat.

Ha! You could have made this into a three week endeavor with a 5 or 10 page write up with 500+ photos, constant jabs dealing with your own or every else’s ability, agility, knowledge, tools, shops, driveways, weather, McDonalds McRib sandwiches, puppies & kittens, opossums, etc. if you really wanted too.

You're just a poopy pants.
