Just bought a 99 cherokee. It was a police car. Just wondering if anyone knows what came on this compared to non-police editions. Things I know: it has one of those spotlights by the left mirror. I think it has a posi rear. It has rubber mats instead of carpet. The seat are vinyl or similar. It has a trans cooler, not sure if that is normal. It's not an aftermarket one, it is factory. It has an extra idle I think it is called, it puts in on fast idle all the time when turned on, I am guessing to run electric equipment better when idling on the shoulder?

Any other ideas?

It should come with skidplates on front, transfer case, and gas tank, as well as factory tow hooks.

 

Police editions came with a 120 mph speedometer also. And a upgraded alternator standard.

 

and bigger brakes and upgraded shocks, i think i remember reading that somewhere. the high idle switch is awesome!

well i know for a fact that for brakes they ask you what size they are. they offered me 9 or 10" drums for the rear so when u need rear brakes, just ask for 10" rear drum parts

 

my 92 is a Police package. The best things it has is the COLUMN shift and high idle switch, 10" brakes, and POSI rear
