Man, I'm so jealous about those spot lights. I wonder if anyone has installed them, or how hard they are to get a hold of. Would the ones from a crown vic interceptor or a caprice 9C1 fit? There's a million around here. I want one on both sides

Wow! That one even has a built in seat for small (Midget? Little People?) offenders... I wonder if that's a big problem with that department, no pun intended

Have you requested a buildsheet on it? That would pretty much tell you everything you need to know and might have some useful info when it comes time to ordering parts.

Should be the 4.0 liter H.O. (high output) motor in the police versions giving you 190 H.P.

I don't post here much at all, just wanted to update that I am still driving this Jeep, up to 150,000 miles with no hickups. It's good to have nothing to report.

I have a 99 with the police package. I have a circular light on the headliner above the console with a 1056 bulb in it. pretty bright inside at nite with it on.

Did the 99 also have a high idle switch? If so, where's it mounted?

I have 2 police editions XJ's. The build sheet on both list "Police Package" as an option, one does list the tracking locator the other does not. One is a 97 with 43k miles and the other is a 2000 with only 24k miles. I dont think the engine is any different from stock, but they do have all the other items that have been listed in the other posts. The bigger brakes do stop better, I have three other XJ's and they do not stop as well.

Here is the site to get the build sheet. Just fill out, asking for the org. build sheet. http://www.jeep.com/wccsapp/universa...ull&category=U
