...waiting for the part, I have a question: what is the best oil to use for oil changes for my XJ. The last oil change I got 3,000 miles ago, I used fully synthetic but this time I'm thinking about a synthetic blend. Does it matter?

If you search the answers to your question, you will find a LOT of previous threads with light and some less light reading...there are many many different opinions on this subject. Some have a strong support towards synthetics, others will say synthetics will only cause more leaks.
Same goes for different oil viscosities, brands etc etc. The possible next question, "what oil filter to combine it with" ....same thing.
But for what its worth: I stick with old fashioned 10W-30 all year round and a good brand filter. Don't have to change it to 'winter oil' because temps here never get low. But thats my AUS $ 0.02 on this...

Huh... When I put in my head unit, the Metra harness I bought wouldn't fit...
Most of the wires were color-to-color, but two or three weren't.
Somewhere I have a list of what goes to what, but without knowing what head unit you have, it probably wouldn't help.
Also, I use high-zinc synthetic blend (more than 50% synthetic), and my Jeep seems to like it.
The oil shouldn't matter as much as the filter does... Get a Wix or a Mopar.

10W-30 is good from 0 degrees F and up according to owner's manual.
Synthetic oil should be good for 8,000-10,000 miles between changes assuming normal driving and a good filter. NOT Fram.

Actually, it just runs a whole lot smoother and quieter. I had some upper engine noise/rattly sounds, nothing non-typical of the 4.0, but the T6 really quieted it down. I also haven't seen a drop leak since I changed it, although that seems to go against what is typically said from switching to synthetic from dino oil.

That's a myth that synthetic causes leaks for the most part. But if someone has bad gaskets anyway, some might weep out because syn has smaller molecules.
Regarding rattles, my '87 Renix has that dry-sounding rattle on startup. If you listen really closely you can sometimes hear noisy valvetrain at cruise.
The oil pressure and volume are fine.
Does T6 have a lot of zinc in it?
I'm not trying to hijack the lady's thread here, but she did ask about oil. Y'all.

Thanks Roler, 2wdUnderachiever, Firestorm500, Pocketsempty. I will try the Wix filter, or at least a better one and continue using the good old fashion10w-30 and Motor Honey, she seems to like it. Good girl!

You don't need any additives in your oil.
