Please help, need your opinions..
I just picked up an 88 Jeep cherokee, my plan is to swap some parts i need for my Comanche but, I plan on driving the Cherokee as a run about. When you start up the Cherokee it runs like it's on it's last leg, sputters and shakes, if you apply any gas pedal it gets worse, and I have to pop the clutch to get it to move, as soon as I engage the clutch the motor instantly starts running fine, perfect throttle control, acts like there isn't a thing wrong with it, put it back into neutral and bam...Right back to sputtering and idling aweful. The previous owner told me that after driving it a lil bit it will shut off and you have to give it a few to cool down and then it will restart. I'm not sure if both problems are related.. Can anyone tell me where to start on this bi-polor Jeep?
