please help my no start again....... urgent!
I was over at my freinds house doing our daily workout all was well getting ready to go home. Got in my jeep turned the key and no start...... i had this problem before and what everyone said to do is to start the jeep in neutral and it fired right up! But now i put it in neutral and it does not start up at all. no crank no nothing. So what i need to know is it the starter or some type of sensor. please help me i got work in the morning and i don't think i can get a ride. thanks! o and also sense the last time that it wouldn't start up it starts very slowly but now does not crank at all thanks!

I did mine today. wasnt too bad. hardest part was getting it off the lever shaft. use lots of penetrating oil before you do it. I actually had to scrub mine with steel wool to get all the corrosion off so it would slide off. Even with that headache I was done in 2 hours. All you need to know is in this link http://bc4x4.com/tech/2010/jeep-neut...ty-switch-nss/
good luck.
good luck.

How do you KNOW it's not the battery? To me it sounds like your battery died or your alternator took a crap. However we still need more info. What did it do when you tried to start it? You said it did not crank but did it click? Did it do nothing at all? Do any of your lights work or your radio?

My 91 XJ just started doing the same thing yours is. Turn the key and nothing. I figured I would treat it like a Chevy and smack the side of the starter a couple of times. Guess what, It started right up. It's done this three time now. I will be replacing the starter this weekend!
