2000 cherokee sport-no start
happy to find this site.Mom has a 2000 cherokee sport w/ 4.0 litre. No start has no electric to anywhere in cab ,headlights dead also, no volts on meter in dash..Battery is fine. Where do I start to look? it's 12 below today and not wanting to spend time froozen looking for the problem. Can someone point me where to look for any relay or fuseable links etc? I am thinking somewhere after battery lies the problem.Any info or wire diagram would be so appreciated.Thank you much in advance

Could be blown relay. A fuse or short may account for all that, but check the engine bay fuse/relay box. I think the '00 is same as my '99's location: pass side, straight back from battery, accessible standing at pass wheel, look over relays for damage or corrosion. Try to clean as best as possible. Dielectric grease helps. Check in cab fuse box: down by pass feet. If not in fuses/relays, then there's a short somewhere, probably.. Start tracing wires..
Edit- welcome, btw! This place is full of useful info. Hit the search option and look there, too. A lot of info to flick thru! Good luck!

1. Clean battery terminals and battery posts. Connections are often to blame and can't tell much by looking at them.
2. Load test your battery. Load testing is the ONLY accurate way of determining battery condition. Voltage testing by itself is inconclusive.
3. Check all fuses and relays
4. Freshen engine grounds. Another thing that is often overlooked.

good info above. I've had 12V at the battery and bad/loose/cruddy connections on the battery top causing a no-start too many times...that's the first think I check.

well it was the small wire from battery to fender(ground) was broken.I'm thinking there is another ground missing from engine to frame etc as I wouldn't think they pull ground for starter and all systems thru that small wire on fender?

You can't tell much of anything by looking at ground connections unless they're broken or missing!! You must remove, scrape, clean until shiny the cable/wire ends and whatever they bolt to. Be sure to remove all paint from any ground connections.
Start with the one on the back corner of the head, and where it attaches to the firewall, as it deteriorates over time and is an area that makes it susceptible to damage. Best to replace that woven cable with a #4 or #2 gauge cable. You can attach the one end to the intake manifold if you would like.
Next go over to the engine dipstick tube stud. Remove the nut and clean the wire ends and scrape the block until shiny at the stud. Reattach tightly.
If you are so inclined, add at least a #6 cable from the negative terminal of your battery to one of the bolts on your radiator support.
