Default plastic cannister behind front bumper

What is the purpose of this canister? I pulled the front bumper off today to take some measurements, I noticed the canister is cracked. I don't know if it happened when I was taking the bumper off, or if it's been cracked for a while.
Is it needed to run the vehicle or can I delete it?

I assume that means it controls the air conditioning. Mine is not working and unplugged.
I'm going to gut the whole air conditioning system anyway.

I think it's the blend door that's vacuum operated. Besides that and cruise I'm not sure if it controls anything else

I'm going to try just plugging it off, I don't have air and can do without cruise.

I taped mine right around the center where it went together from the factory. Electrical tape worked and I drove it like that for almost a year

I'm going to build a bumper and add a winch, I guess I'll have to find somewhere to stick it after I fix the crack.
Mine is shaped more like a blimp.
I could never understand how you store vacuum???

With a diaphragm and a one-way valve.

Are you going to have cruise control?

Mount it to /near the passenger side firewall/inner fender within 12" of your vacuum lines.....
