Default Performance vs standard (sway bar)

Found one of the knocking sounds under the front end. Stabilizer bar cushions are just worn out and the sway bar grommets are dry rotted. I see that Morris 4x4 has the cushions (part 52088523 ) for 3.99 each and I know to replace both. However thought about replacing both sway bar links. Morris has a standard and performance. I assume I could just replace the grommets (part 52001132 ) on the ome link. (two on each) much cheaper. I really don't know what would be the benefit of $13 for performance. What's the main difference?

I personally have never heard of a performance sway bar link, something about that just doesnt sound right. Maybe it has multiple mounting holes for adjustment? Other than that i don't see how you could even make a performance sway bar link.

Well they sell both and one is $13 more. I thought maybe it had something to do with the grommet material which (if in fact it does), doesn't seem to me to be a big deal. The ones on there now are factory,...lasting 15 years. I agree, never heard of performance other than perhaps a thicker, stock material.

Yeah i guess it could be poly bushings, but no reason to replace the links. Poly is harder than rubber so it has less give to have a firmer feel.
