Yes it is the down stream sensor and it looks like it is missing some wires to. Might want to find them also.

Lol, like all four of them....

For real, find where that wire went, go to the parts store, buy some 18 gauge wire, splicers, shrink wrap, and go buy a new downstream O2 sensor, or else your going to keep throwing codes and your jeep will run freakishly rich (causing it to lose a little bit of power)...

There's two, downstream (that one), and upstream, in the header I believe...

Most vehicles, if they have a missing O2 sensor, will just tell the motor to run rich to avoid any damage from detonation. I don't know about jeeps, but on my home turf (saturns) even if they are missing just one of two sensors, the computer will go into a sort of "safe mode" and run rich.

Can some one clarify, do jeeps run rich without one of the O2 sensors? Or do both have to be missing?

Also, that part looks like it might be the connector.. Is that the T-case in the background?

yes Jeeps will go into "limp home mode" if one is missing even though the back one just watches the front one. Silly huh ?

the wires were cut flush with the o2 body...that sensor is junk...as long as he has the connectors a new o2 will fix the problem!!

Yes it does. Mine came loose and hit the driveshaft and tore it all to hell. Had to rewire it . Make sure you zip tie it away from the driveshaft really well after you replace it.
