Part Identification (vacuum line?)

Location is passenger side next to firewall/fender corner looking straight down. I am wondering what the hose is that I'm touching and where it connects. I don't see anywhere obvious for it to go. The pipe fittings in the image are my compressor, to clear that part up. Also, what is the small capacitor looking thing the other end of the hose goes to?

That goes eventually to the far left hand port on the vacuum motor on the axle disconnect. It activates the switch on the left in your photo and turns on the 4WD light.
Thanks guys. Next question is can anyone snap a couple pics of either end of their same line all connected up? I'd like to see it configured correctly.
I replaced the vac lines, the parts that I installed called the "front" and "rear" vac lines. I haven't seen parts for all the other small diameter vac lines around the rest of the engine compartment so I am assuming they are a generic size that I can probably buy off the spool at the local auto parts store. Is that correct? What about the plastic connectors and splices?

Any words of wisdom on what lines i can remove and what needs to stay? When you remove them do you have to plug the hole to maintain vacuum? Would make sense. Any threads or websites on this?

Engine: The venerable 4.0
I put a non disco d30 in mine and got rid of all of it. Then when I relocated my vacuum ball I ran two lines from that y fitting, one to each side of the ball. The y fitting is the main vacuum source.
