Default painting the intake manifold?

Hi all, is it ok to paint the intake manifoldor, will it have negative impacts on cooling or so on.

I just thought it would look cool to be painted either black or silver.
My jeep is all black inside and out. It is also a 2000.5 with the 4.0.

Paint wont hurt a thing. The heat from the exhaust may be problem though. Maybe put some heat reflector on the bottom side.

you do not want to paint the intake manifold. The intake is aluminum. Aluminum requires very specific and careful prep before attempting to paint it in order to remove the oxides that form on the surface. This is the reason aluminum is usually "anodized" instead of painted.

Trust me, even if you do prep it correctly, and get the paint to stick, it won't stick for long, and will end up looking MUCH worse than before you painted it, especially since it's right above the exhaust manifold.

Good to know, thanks!
