Replaced the crank sensor and all the jerking went away and runs like a top but cel won't go away... what could it be?

Ok, Since you changed the crank sensor you may want to look into the cam sensor. You can get the same code for both sensors.

Now that is strange. So if you clear it out codes it keeps throwing the same code after?

That Sucks! Just throwing out some idea here. Maybe check all the related wire to the CPS and make sure that none of them are rubbing against anything cause them to arch. Make sure that the wires are in good shape Also make sure that the wires from the cps are not to close to the manifold causing them to over heat. Like I said just throwing out some ideas.

 

Could it be that the cam is out of a newer 2000 jeep and we made a cam button
