These stupid codes are the Achilles heel of the AW4 automatic transmissions. I replaced the NSS a few months back with a $40 from Amazon, which worked for a little while, but now the codes are back and ready for revenge. It's odd because I clear them, everything works (Jeep shifts into 4th and the torque converter locks up), but after it's shut off and turned back on, the codes return. The codes prevent the Jeep from shifting into 4th gear, but the torque converter does lock up around 45-50 MPH. This isn't a problem (for right now) because most of my driving is only done around town at low speeds in the winter time, but the bright orange check engine light does get on my nerves sometimes...

Also, the head for the adjuster bolt is broken off due to rust. I don't think it has an effect on the NSS because I can put the Jeep in reverse, wiggle it around, and the reverse lights stay on despite its position. I do think the amount of grime on the adjuster bolt itself helps the NSS from wiggling around too much.

My question is: Should I go spend $90 for one from RockAuto, or go spend a few hundred dollars for a stealership one? Thanks in advance.
