Default Overhead Console Retrofit

Just swapped an overhead console out of a 98 XJ into my 99. I managed to get the wiring connected and everything works except the clock. When it comes on but it just counts up and then eventually stopped on an incorrect time. Do yall think i have a wire crossed or do I just need to set it? Is there any way to set the clock on the console?

It's because that's not a clock.

It's basically just a timer that keeps track of whatever you may need it for. I never really found a use for it myself... I just kept mine on the temp or DTE.

I just did this about a month ago, I pulled one from a '98 to put in my '00. The overhead console changed in '97, and personally I wouldn't mess with trying to put the older style in the newer or vise-versa. I did notice that the connector for the wiring harness varied slightly from the two years that I did, but nothing a little solder can't patch through... I found this thread and web site very helpful.

Do you have pictures of how you wired up the colors at the fuse box on the passenger side kick panel? If you could post some pictures or a wire diagram that would be amazing. I recently purchased a 98 overhead unit and can't get it wired up in my 99 sport. I have looked all over the internet and can't find any help.

Been looking for one myself, thanks for the links and the years needed for the console swap.

This is the only thread that was even this recent and specific for 98 unit in 99 Cherokee retrofit. Do you happen to have the proper hookup necessary to get this working?
