Default Only 8.5v to Power Seats

So my power seats haven't worked since I got this rig. I'm finally taking a look. I pulled the electrical plug and I get 8.5v. I'm assuming i need 12. I can't find the fuse for the seats.

Anyone got an idea where to start?

Thanks!

I ran a line right off the battery and the seat motors are working fine, so I've just got an issue somewhere in the wiring.

In the driver's side kick panel between the seats and the fusebox is a connector that can develop high resistance and lower the available voltage to the seat.

Thanks cruiser, I'll pop that panel off and take a look tomorrow. What does the connector look like?

I can't remember if there are one or two wires, but they'll be good sized compared to others.

So I chased the red wire off of the fuse box, to the junction where it splits between door lock wire (green) and seat wire (red), chased the red seat wire and it runs right down the main group toward the back of the jeep. Do any of you guys know what other junctions there are on this and where they might be? Stripping back all of the tape would be a major PITA.

I don't have a wiring diagram for your cherokee, but I have a body manual. It shows a 5 wire connector up under the front of the seat FWIW.

Yeah I found out that 30 amp resetting circuit is the one that the door locks and seats run off. It does have 12v, so I'm really leaning toward there being a connection developing high resistance somewhere along the route. Fuse box 12v, both seat connectors 8.5ish v.

Well 12 volts coming off the fuse box, but somewhere between that and the seats it's losing it's juice.
