I have a 96 XJ and have both a factory retractable cargo cover and a factory swing away tire mount and trying to decide which one to install. I have all the parts for both items, I'm just trying to decide which one I want to install. Looking for suggestions.

 

 

Perhaps the question implies that the OP is trying to choose whether to keep storing a spare tire internally, or to switch to external spare tire? I don't know.

 

I am thinking the OP has an issue with the cargo cover now having an opening for the spare that would be open if he were to put the spare tire carrier on and put the spare there. I would still install both.

I would like to see pictures of all the pieces for both. Because I have all most of the pieces for both of those items too and really want to install them on my '00. The cargo cover itself should not be that big a deal but the spare tire carrier is going to take some fab work.
