oil pressure sender replacement 96 4.0
Hi folks,
The good news is that I've changed the oil. The bad news is that like a cack-handed tit I've broken the oil pressure sender because I had to stab the filter with a screwdriver to get it off (Hand Tightened? yeah - by King Kong on a bad day) and basically messed up.
So, I need to get a new sender (is THIS the right part? It looks smaller than the one I broke which had plastic arms, springs and other bits inside.
Also, when I take the old one off, will all my nice fresh oil spew out the side of the block? If so, I reckon I'll wait until the next change...
thanks from the world's worst mechanic

that is not the right one, and no your oil will not spill out unless you are running the jeep while you replace it
Here you go, should be similar to this, but im sure you can find cheaper

Excellent, thanks for the help!
I'll go check out my jeep again, I thought it only had one wire to the sender but I didn't really look properly.

You need to get the oil filter wrench that has a circle(metal band) on the end of a handle, all the other styles are worthless. I used to have trouble getting my filter off till I got the right wrench, now it's a breeze.

Yup, I think you're right. The best price I can find in the UK is £41 or about $67 in US money. That makes a filter wrench a good investment in my book!
edit: $67 for the sender

Same thing happened to me when I changed my oil. 30$ part from autozone or advanced, and I didn't know what it was when I broke it so I started the jeep after I changed oil and all my new oil went spilling out :wall: turned a 20$ change into a 80$ change, makes me wanna let gooodyear handle em from now. Lol
