That i couldnt tell you, call around to a couple of chrysler dealers and tell them you need an oil pressure sending unit for a '88 cherokee, they will probably ask you the engine and a few other things.

 

Google it. I have a thread on here went from an oil change and a knock with a fram filter to a non-fram (mobile 1) and no knock. Oil pressure was terrible on the fram as well, cut the bastard open turns out it was just bypassing the filter element.

 

REALLY BAD.

 

Next week I'll look into replacing my filter. Then I'll rent a gauge

 

Theres a post on the (dont kill me for this) wrangler forum about the fram filters. It was an interview with the president of Fram. Basically what it says is that filter has to have been at least 5 years old because they have recently gotten a new system that will make it impossible for a filter like that to pass. He did say that filter was a actuall defect and not something somebody rigged for a video. Either way i still dont use them, just figured i would put that out there.

 

I run a Bosh Distance Plus oil filter made for synthetics, and I run Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 10w-30 oil and she purrs like a kitten.

 

Denso v8 toyota tundra filters are great as well

 

1085 NAPA Gold filter and Valvoline High Mileage 5w30 in winter, 10w30 in the summer. Done that for over 100K miles and purrs and runs like a champ!!?

 

So what should I go with napa, Bosch, or something different

 

Wix or Napa Gold are fine. There are other good ones out there, too. But these two are readily available at most better parts stores.

Filter and oil that looks kinda dark for how recently I changed it. It may be a tad too full..would that cause low pressure?

 

Tad too full wouldn't cause low oil pressure.

Why don't you check the pressure with a mechanical gauge?

 

I havent gotten one yet and I dont know exactly where im supposed to connect it.

 

Unscrew your oil sending unit near the oil filter. Screw the gauge fitting in.
