Oil pressure question
Is it normal for my oil pressure to go way up with my rpm? Like if I stomp on the gas the pressure climbs like 3/4 of the way, goes down fine when the rpm drop.
I dont know if its always done it and I just noticed it or what, seems like I would of noticed before.
Normally after warmed up my oil pressure sits at 20 at idle and around 30 driving.
any opinions?
thanks

That is as a good normal indication. So long as your Jeep isn't leaking or burning oil or making any nasty knocking or banging noises, I'd say your oil pressure is fine.

Ok good to know, guess I just never looked at the oil pressure when the rpms were high.
I usually have to add a quest between oil changes, so I dont think thats that bad, its mostly from the valve breather filter I have too hanging down too.
When its cold and I start it it does have some pretty bad sounding noise for a second but goes away and doesnt come back until its cold again. Sounds like piston slap to me. I've actually been wanting to take a vid of the noise and get some opinions on it
One day ittl prolly blow up and Ill rebuild it.
THANKS!

LMAO - My Jeep has done that for the 6 years I've owned it. If I leave it sitting for more than a week, it will knock a little when I first turn it over but, it immediately goes away and it has always had a mild lifter tick at idle that goes away with any throttle. It had 185K when I bought it and it now has over 268K. It is still running strong. Just keep the tack out of the red area, the oil full and regular 3K mile changes and a Jeep 4.0 will last forever.

oh thats good to know then. Yea mine sound fine after that first second of a cold start, not even any lifter tick, the engine is overall loud but I think thats normal for these.
