I have a 1999 sport 4.0 6cyl automatic--I started it up this morning and the oil pressure was low--it was the oil sending unit..Mine runs 50-60 while driving down the road and a little below 40 in idle..start up about 46 untill warms up..This morning oil pressure was low=5-20..
Had a oil sending unit put on it--its back to normal!!

First off, make sure you do not use fRam oil filters. Use Wix or Napa Gold which are readily available.

Here's an interesting read about fixing low oil pressure readings. It may or may not be your problem but you might fix it with a pipe cleaner:

I had to replace my sending unit twice. Must have been a faulty one from the factory. Runs fine now
