This was my frustration they all refer to 14x1.25 for 89xj 4.0!

I thought I was right. They didn't change to 1/2-20 until Chrysler took over.

So you may have to use a Dorman universal plug of the proper size if the existing hole is trashed until you can replace the pan?

Update on stripped oil pan plug

Just wanted to update everyone that I was able to address the stripped oil pan with a EcoPlug Magnetic plug for steel oil pans. Sealed perfectly, haven’t had any leaks and the magnate is VERY strong! I had some concerns, but this thing seals! Of course I will address the oil pan issue when I get to the suspension upgrade as it will be much easier with some components out of the way. Thank you all for your input.
