Oil peresure gauge not working

Dunno if this helps...

my '96 4.0, when I got it, the oil pressure gauge was pegged all the way to the right. I took out the oil pressure sensor and it was faulty, the little pin was pushed all the way in, and it was leaking oil all over the place. Replaced the sensor and it was back to normal.

It took 10 min and the sensor is not very expensive.

Thank you I will be replacing it as soon as I get my pay check
Fittest I'm goin to try taking the wire off and see what it does

Gauge jumps when not connected to sensor or grounded to metal ? Or when your grounding to metal? Splain please ...

I disconnected the wire leading to the oil send unit and touched it to metal and the gauge jumps back and forth when I wiggle the wire

Replace oil sender and your done. similar to this 1 spade connection

Yes, for a light in the dash.

The sender, whether it is for the gauge or idiot light, is located right above the oil filter adapter.
