Oil peresure gauge not working

Default Oil peresure gauge not working

The Oil gauge in my dash never work from day one
Why is that?

Always post year/engine when you start a thread.

Could be the oil pressure sending unit (above oil filter) the gauge itself in your dash, or the wiring.

But most likely is the sending unit. As it is a common failure and not that expensive, I'd consider starting with that. I buy MOPAR for that sensor. Best for reliability/accuracy/mating with your factory gauge.

So when was day one for you? I hope you had at least sóme pressure all that time you were staring at a dead gauge...

I'd verify with a mechanical gauge to have an idea where your pressure is at the moment since you have no idea how good or bad it actually is.
And then, like TJ suggested, check out a new pressure sending unit if you indeed have decent pressure.

Well day one was about 8 months ago give or take 2
If there's no oil pressure then what does that mean?

Change your sending unit and dont forget to buy the special socket. Makes life easier than using channel locks to loosen and tighten..

You dont need a 'special socket', crescent wrench is fine, the sender is not torqued high at all..
