And BTW, this douchebag has offered you the most comprehensive, accurate, and easy to follow advice you could ask for. Even wrote a special write-up to address this issue for many others so it was at my fingertips to share with others. Perhaps parts of it are offensive to those who are over-sensitive, but it gives the OWNER of the Jeep, who is their with it, the tools they need for a proper diagnosis. Deal with it..
Yeah, and thank you for that. But being nice about it will also get the point across. If your nice to me ill be nice to you simple as that, if not Deal with me being a whiny teen.

All the gaskets/seals that Cruiser mentioned can be purchased for less than 50 bucks and be installed with minimal labor. Heck just replace them all, and if you still have an oil leak then start looking into the more costly labor intensive repairs such as R.M.S and oil pan gasket
What gaskets and seals are you talking about? In case I'm missing some. I have to replace the valve cover gasket anyways so besides that one lol and the oil adapter has new seals. Haven't checked the distributor but I will in the morning as cruiser suggested and clean it as another suggested.

That's fantastic, I'm doing my best to keep up with an 18 year old vehicle. As I'm only 17 and am not fully knowledgable on vehicles yet.

Oil filter adaptor, sending unit, and distributor. Personaly I'd go ahead and do the vavle cover, and oil filter adaptor since you mentioned youd be changing the oil I assume youll be changing the filter too. Might as well go ahead and spend a few extra bucks and minutes. then clean the block good and wait to see what gets slippery first

I believe you mentioned that your oil sending unit was not hooked up. That dosent mean it cant still leak. Besides how the heck do you drive around not knowing if you have any oil pressure? Id go insane!
seriously you need to look into getting that fixed

Will do. And as for the sending unit. Yeah I know it's been unhooked since I bought it. It's missing the whole thing I think? I. Was gonna fix it at one point but didn't have the money to get the part. But it hasn't really bothered me. Will fix it by the summer hopefully. But yeah I'll look at it closer. My bet is really on the oil pan gasket. There's so much oil around it lol. But that'll be my last resort. Ill probably take back the gasket for now and get a valve cover gasket and do that tomorrow.

You know the sending unit is about $30 at NAPA? Very easy to do its only 1 wire and just twist it off/on. By the way, it's next to the oil filter.

People have to start somewhere, Yes i got on Cherokeeforum to ask for help on an oil leak that ive had for a long time and I couldnt seem to find the exact spot it was coming from. My bad Ill make sure to replace every part that holds oil next time before i ask for peoples thoughts on what it could be. I asked SO I wouldnt be replacing parts on a quess. thanks for the help, Ill clean it and let it idle. Then quess on from there.
just so you know kid4x4 that response you got from cruiser is a prewritten response he posts over and over it wasnt directed at you personally. Many people jump to assume its the rear seal and go to all the hassle of replacing it just to find out it wasnt the problem. did you happen to notice how many posts cruiser has? He is quite knowledgeable and was trying to help he isnt really someone whos advise you should take lightly he knows his **** and is nice enough to take the time to help others. but since so many questions are asked over and over again its way easier for him to just repost his popular replies. I think an apology is appropriate

Just a heads up, if my experience with replacing the oil pan gasket is anything like everyone elses be ready for hell. You'll want to rip your hair out and sell the jeep to by a prius by time your done.

Maybe that last part was an exaggeration but seriously, its not a quick in-and-out job.
