One against the block, two on the through bolt.

Now that said, there is one part number for a kit on HO motors. Is that what we're thinking?

the other 2 rings are smaller. I'm wondering if this is something that changed after '96 or '97.... From What I can tell by the write up, If you look at the last picture you can see what looks like one small o ring in the middle of the adapter. I can see two o rings on this one, not 3. Maybe there's another on not shown. Either way it looks like the outer ring is the one that's going to give the most trouble when it goes bad. If I get mine apart and it needs 3, it's not a big deal. It's not my daily driver. I can let it sit until I get the right o rings. I'm going to go out and do it soon.

Are you saying the 2000 only has one o-ring?

yes. one o ring only. it's the outer ring. that's all that's in there.. Look at the write up--the last picture. It's the same adapter on the 2000 as the one pictures. There's only one o ring. I guess they must have changed it at some point.

I got that replaced, and I used some cleaner and wiped everything down. I drove it around and went back underneath to double check. The adapter is no longer leaking, but there is a very small amount of oil on what I think is the rear main seal. I'm just not that familiar with it. The oil is behind the oil pan. It's a very small amount.

There are actually two more orings, they are on the bolt that goes through the center. One is on the middle of the bolt and the other is at the end of the bolt. If it's not leaking I wouldn't worry about it though.
