cool thanks, I didn't want to start and find out it was theory. Maybe there is a way of sealing the adapter without removing it. Like a coating so that it wont leak. I need a quick fix to hold the oil in until I decide whether I want to buy a new engine or a new jeep.

 

I tried a couple of gasket makers and they all failed to hold the oil even after drying overnight..Someone suggested "The Right Stuff" which sounds pretty good from the label but I never tried that

 

would it help if u sprayed WD-40 around the bolt n let it seep in before removing it ??

 

Does this year take an allen or a torx? Everyone said to use a 60 torx and I found that a 55 worked better. May not be the case for you and if it is an allen then you need to get as snug a fit as possible. I went at it from the bottom. I set the bolt in and set the wrench in a way that allowed me to push up on the wrench so I could lay on the ground under the jeep. I also used a 12 inch piece of pipe. After a lot of pushing I broke that thing loose. You can get it but this thing will require some creativity and some muscle. Just get motivated and pouned a monster drink.
