its a 4wd (why would you buy a 2wd jeep..im jes sayin..) my first question is based on my first encounter. i bought some tires that were pre-mounted on rims that i come to find wont fit. there are more that one type 5 lug wheels. so, what do i look for when shopping for "stock" wheels for this thing?. i understand they are 5 on 4X4.5...al i want are some basic white spoke steel wheels (like the one in the profile pic in the back seat)..i HATE the stoc k chrome ones...
also, any pointers to beginners low budget suspension upgrades?..junkyard, off the shelf whatever.
and last...clubs?..i already sense an 'eliteness' with owning a jeep..any ideas how to find a local casual/beginers group?...

ok first the lug pattern is a 5x4.5 that lug pattern is the small lug pattern that ford uses the rims on mine are off of a bronco2 you can do a 2" budget lift for around $100 or less with a 2" lift you can run 31's with minor triming there is a thread with a list of jy parts that will fit an xj either diract bolt or slight modify to work here is the link https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/bud...herokee-58797/ welcome to the xj family

wow...you would think i was typing my responses via wifi on the road..sheesh...hey, thanks fellas..already i learn from reading that i need to find a "bastard pack"..uh..just WTF is that.?..like, can i walk in to my local pick and pull and say "hey, i need a pack..bastard''..(a little clarification here please?..)
also, i am not looking to build a rock crawler?, but to exemplify and enhance what is already present in the Jeep as much and as cheap as possible...for now...trust me, i am already hooked.

"another veh mixed with you stock or any stock xj"
wow...sounds exotic and possibly intrinsically complicated?...any simple first timer steps?...again, i am not (immediately) interested in building a crawler or a hill climber, only exploiting the jeep i already have in the easiest most inexpensive way.
